
Siasconset
On the eastern end of the island, you'll find rose-covered cottages, stunning ocean views and an iconic lighthouse in the charming village of ‘Sconset. There are two scenic bike routes to Sconset, each about 8-10 miles long. The WAVE bus also offers two FREE routes to the village, each taking around 30 minutes.
Walking:
From the rotary in the center of Sconset village, take the scenic Cliff Walk—a public footpath along the bluffs that leads to the iconic Sankaty Lighthouse, with a chance to spot seals playing in the waves below. The beach is also just a 5-minute walk from the rotary, accessible via a ninety-foot-long footbridge.

Biking:
Depending on your route—via the Milestone Rotary or Polpis Road—it’s a 10 to 12-mile bike ride between town and Sconset. Both paths offer stunning views of Nantucket’s diverse landscapes. You can rent a bike in town, have one delivered or pick one up along the way.
Public Transport:
The WAVE bus offers two routes to this area, each departing from the Greenhound Building downtown every hour. The trip takes about 30 minutes and the views along the way are worth the ride. Best of all, it's FREE.
