Cisco

Acres of preserved natural beauty, farmland and exhilarating surf define this scenic south shore region. Just three miles from downtown, the beach is accessible by a one-hour walk or a 30-minute bike ride along the Hummock Pond bike path. The WAVE Miacomet route also serves nearby stops, including areas close to the Brewery and Audubon trails.

Walking:

Conservation land lines both sides of the Hummock Pond Road and bike path, with miles of trails to explore.

Biking:

It’s just over a 3-mile ride from downtown to the Cisco Beach area via the Hummock Pond bike path. You can rent a bike downtown, have one delivered to your house or hotel or pick one up at a rental spot near Cisco’s popular landmarks.

Cisco Beach is the favorite of island surfers thanks to a large, submerged sandbar that allows waves to break away from shore.

Public Transit:

The WAVE Miacomet route runs every 20 minutes between downtown (Greenhound Building at 10 Washington Street) and Hummock Pond Road. The Somerset Road stop is just a 10-minute ride away and connects easily to the bike path—it's less than a 15-minute walk to the Brewery from there. And best of all, the ride is FREE.
